So as some of you Aussies may know, the Smiths chips company recently held a nationwide contest to find a new chip flavour. Now down to the final four, these finalists have been released in stores and you can buy them, try them and then vote for your favourite one. Over the course of the last few days, I have tried all four flavours and am now ready to give my opinion as a chip aficionado.

Caesar Salad

Yum! I found this flavour to be very delicious. I love Caesar salad (without the meaty bits, of course!) and I could really taste the flavour in this chip. There wasn’t a strong taste of anything else, such as lettuce, bacon, anchovies etc, but the dressing is what makes a salad. I believe they got the flavour pretty spot on for this!

Late-night Kebab

An ok taste to it. Having not had a meat kebab in the 7 1/2 years since I became a vegetarian, I can’t fully remember what one tastes like, but from what I could remember, this wasn’t it. It had a strong kinda onion and garlic taste to it, which I guess represents the garlic sauce in a kebab. It was a good chip in small doses, but I don’t think I could eat it all the time.

Buttered Popcorn

I only really got the buttered popcorn taste every now and again. The flavouring is very subtle, and to me taste more like a cream cheese than butter. I probably could find myself munching through a whole bag on the odd occasion, but not as a regular buy.

Coat-of-arms BBQ

A BBQ chip with a distinctly smoky flavour. Nothing too out of the ordinary, there have been smoky BBQ flavours made before. Not really as original an idea as I would have thought coming from a competition like this, but I can see what they were trying to do by trying to have a distinctly Aussie taste in the mix.

Verdict

The Caesar Salad was a clear winner for me. Great taste, very easy to eat a whole bag and got the flavouring pretty much straight on. I’d say the Buttered Popcorn and Coat-of-arms BBQ tied for a second, whereas the Late-Night Kebab was my least favourite.

But hey that’s just my opinion! Give them a crack yourself, you might find yourself having a completely different opinion to me If you’ve already tried them, or when you do, leave me a comment letting me know what you think!

So I got it done! I’ve got a small blue stone in it, looks good! I got it done with the needle (people have been asking if I got it done with the gun, but as far as I’m aware they don’t do nose piercings with guns anymore). I certainly wasn’t prepared for the amount of blood though! I felt like I had a full on blood nose, and I bled for quite a while. The piercer even asked if I had blood clotting problems because I bled longer than most people I think it was just the fact that apparently smoking thins your blood, so as a smoker it took me a little while longer to stop! And yes because it bled so much I felt really faint and had to lie down and almost threw up But I survived!

And here it is! (the mark you can see just above it is from the texta mark the piercer made, not a freckle! Also yeah you can’t really see the colour of the stone…)

You know, I really need to turn my PC on more. I’ve found that since I got my iPhone almost a year ago, I tend to use it to access Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Google and any other generic websurfing more than my PC. Plus with my 360, I rarely use my PC for gaming anymore. Hell, my mum uses it more than I do! Have I turned so lazy now that I would rather lie on my bed with a phone than sit in a chair? The answer is probably yes… But really, is that so bad? The only sucky thing is that I haven’t quite worked out how to link this blog to the WordPress iPhone app, otherwise I’m pretty damn sure I would be blogging more, because it would be a lot more convenient and I can post useless little blogs when I’m out there in the big wide world!

So, I guess it’s time to catch people up on my life… Not much has really happened. I got caught by credit card fraud. Don’t know how it happened because I use PayPal most of the time… The only time I don’t is when I order from the Pizza Hut website (hmmm hows that for laziness? I won’t even pick up the phone to order now!). Could have been from a skimming device? Ah I don’t know. Anyone I’ve put in a claim and I should get back the money they took ($283… and since it’s a Visa Debit, it came from my savings!!). I passed my hazard perception test! Yay! Still got a couple of months before I go for my driving test, but I’m working hard towards it

I want to say how much I love TV series’ on DVD. There are some TV shows that I can just watch again and again. Seinfeld is the one I’ve watched the most and is the second series I’ve fully collected, the first being Black Books which I got all 3 seasons in a box set. I am currently making my way through How I Met Your Mother. Bought the first two seasons this week, am currently watching the second. Buying the third next week when I get paid, and season 4 is released October 28 I also need to complete my House MD collection (only have 3 and 4 atm) and I want to start collecting The Simpsons and Dexter now… Hmmm if anyone wants to get me any for Christmas *hint hint*

So the only other thing I have to say is I might be getting my nose pierced tomorrow. Yay me! Will post up pics if I do. Until then, good night!
