So on Saturday morning I woke up with a fairly bad cough. I woke up this morning (Tuesday) still with the cough and thought, Fuck I better get this checked out. So I called in sick to work and walked next door to my GP. Well the coughing fit I had didn’t leave any surprises as to why I was there, and he immediately suspected whooping cough. Took a throat swab (while wearing a facial mask so I wouldn’t cough on him) and prescribed me some tablets. Now I have to wait 2 days for the results from my swab and I have been given til Monday off work. The thing that sucks though is I can’t really leave the house until I have my results because whooping cough is meant to be quite contagious. I even spent the morning ringing people, not only to cover my shifts for the rest of the week, but to warn them they may have come in contact with whooping cough. I even got given a face mask to hold over my nose and mouth if I have to be around people before I get the results. Here’s hoping I don’t have it!

Bloody awesome to have gone back to Strike last night. Went with a group of people from work and got very drunk making our way through the cocktail list (I think we got about halfway down). Actually bowled a bit as well after! I sang Ice Ice Baby, Shine by Vanessa Amorosi as a duet with Alison, Wannabe by the Spice Girls with Amanda and Alison and In The End by Linkin Park with Matt. Karaoke starts back tonight! Very excited, it’s been a long 2 months! Hopefully will have some good pics to post up tomorrow of it. I’m sure there will be plenty of love in the room

As we all know, the bushfires in Victoria have left a path of devastation and destruction. Do your bit to help by shopping at any Coles store across Australia this Friday, February 13th. 100% of profits will be donated to the Bushfire Appeal to help those who have lost everything. Already millions of dollars have been raised and an entire days profits from Coles nationwide is set to add a few million more. You can also add an extra donation of any amount at the checkouts.
Also, if you are eligible to donate blood, then head to your nearest blood donation centre and get a needle stuck in to you to help with the medical emergencies that have arisen from this disaster.
The death toll currently stands at 181 and is expected to rise further.
My heart goes out to anyone affected.

I arrived back home on Tuesday morning and have spent the last couple of days in a jet-lagged daze. I am, however, starting to feel more human and have finally uploaded my holiday pics! They can be found on my Flickr.
The holiday was bloody fantastic, it was great to finally meet my new family and to see my wonderful step-daddy Pascal again. I went parasailing, swimming, sunbaking, on a catamaran, snorkelling in the reef, dancing, clubbing, exploring and just generally had fun
