I am writing this while sitting in Saucy Mary’s Hostel on the Isle of Skye, right near Skye Bridge. Nice waterfront hostel with a very fast wifi connection! Woo! The past 2 nights I have stayed firstly in Morag’s Lodge which is just a quick walk from Loch Ness, and last night stayed in Carbisdale Castle, which is a castle that was completed in the 1910’s. Was very atmospheric and pretty!
So ok since I’ve been on this Haggis Tour I have been eaten alive by midgies (kinda linke small mosquitos, the bites itch like hell and I have them everywhere!), hiked up to a cave and almost died in the process from being so unfit, done a boat ride on Loch Ness and saw the monster (oh yes indeedy!), tried scottish whiskey and almost burnt my throat from it, walked around ruins of a barracks, been into a very old cathedral, sat in a traditional Scottish pub out in the middle of nowhere, watched sheep randomly wander across the road because there’s no fence on their paddock and much, much more! And it’s only day 3 of the 5 day tour
I am having a good time though and have met some really wonderful people
Plus have been guzzling lots of Irn Bru!! (A Scottish soft drink for those who don’t know).
I have decided for conveniences sake that I’m going to hold posting my photos until I get back. A bitch, I know, but I really can’t be buggered doing it now. Maybe when I get to Nottingham or Milton Keynes I might have time to do it, but right now while in Scotland, nah don’t want to
But yes I am alive, I’m having a ball and I can’t believe my trip is already half over! Oh yeah, and I’ve even managed to get some karaoke in! I was the The Walkabout in Shepherd’s Bush with amorpheous and we happened to be there the night they did Bandaoke, which is karaoke but you sing along with a live band instead of a pre-recorded backing track! Was heaps fun, but a bit more trickier because you need to know the timing of the song well since the lyrics are just a print out rather than on a screen. I sang Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet. I rocked it, but needless to say, I didn’t win
Ah well, anyway… Until next time my lovelies!

Ok, first things first… Yes I’m very aware that the video blog has no sound. I posted it right before I left for the airport, so I didn’t bother checking. I will be re-posting it with sound when I get back, so not to worry!
Now onto the trip… Shanghai was kinda cool. I don’t think a day was really enough to get a proper impression of it though. My first thoughts are hot and smoggy. But the Shanghai Museum is worth it (even if I did have to wait half an hour in a line that extended out into the heat!), some really cool exhibitions in there. I also visited The Bund which has amazing views of the Shanghai cityscape from across the river.
And now I’m in London! Spent the first day in amorpheous’s flat getting over jetlag and wandering around Shepherd’s Bush trying to find somewhere to have lunch. 2 pubs I went into that advertised food out the front told me they no longer served food. Like wtf? Remove the signage that says you do!! So I ended up in a fish & chip shop getting chips
Today me and morph went into central London where we found the shop they used as the exterior for the bookshop in Black Books. I totally geeked out! Then we headed to the British Museum which had amazing Egyptian and Greek exhibitions. Walked around there for hours, my feet were killing me by the end! Then we went to a pub just across from it for dinner before heading back.
Tomorrow looks like we’re heading to the Tower of London and walking around looking at stuff around the Thames. The Tower Bridge is right near there too, so I’ll get a squiz at that. Also very impressed by the Underground, it seems in my opinion to be quite fast and trains come at very regular intervals!
Photos will come soon. I’m using morph’s laptop, but I will be getting onto mine maybe tomorrow and then I’ll make sure I post them
For now my lovelies, love you all, hope you don’t miss me too much!

Ever wondered what it would be like if I video blogged? Well I haven’t, but it now seems as though my travel blog will be including videos! Yes that’s right, I now have a Sony Handycam with a 30gb HDD! I know I was complaining about being poor, but my holiday came through and was a lot more than I budgeted for, so I managed to buy this and still stay above the budget!

Sexy, yeah?
Today’s my last day of work! Yay! Tomorrow night is the bon voyage party at Strike, and Sunday I’m off. I”M SO EXCITED!!!!

I know it’s been quite a while since my last update, but I have been extremely busy. Work’s been flat out, plus getting ready for my trip and maintaining a social life has left me when an “I can’t be buggered blogging” attitude! But anyway, we’re down to just 9 days til my trip. Yes folks, 9! Next Sunday! Thursday will be my last day of work (yay!), next Friday will be my Bon Voyage party at karaoke and then next Sunday, I’m on that plane and on my way to Shanghai! Sweeeeeeet!
